Services

We provide a range of employment law services for both individuals and business clients. Whilst we normally charge on the basis of an hourly rate, we often offer a discounted fixed fee for a one hour consultation from £195 inclusive of VAT. As a result of COVID 19, the majority of consultations are now done remotely, but we are still seeing clients in person when necessary.

If you need us to defend your business in an employment tribunal claim, the costs will vary depending on the complexity of the issues and the amount of days spent at the employment tribunal hearing. In terms of the average range of costs for a tribunal case from start to finish, a case that only takes one day in the tribunal may cost approximately £3500 plus vat in total. At the other end of the scale, a case which takes five days to be heard could cost as much as £15000 plus vat in total. This is based on our hourly rates which range from £185 an hour to £225 an hour plus VAT. These figures would normally be comprehensive and would not normally include any further costs or disbursements.

If you have a business and are looking for a fixed price retainer agreement, we can offer that service. The cost would depend on the size of your workforce and your claims history.

If you are an employee, to have a consultation to discuss the matter in detail, we will usually agree a fixed fee from around £195 inclusive of VAT for a one hour consultation. Indeed, we can do most things for a fixed fee and would be happy to provide a quote, once we understand the precise nature of the issue and the likely time spent in advising.

If you are an employee and you want us to represent you in an employment tribunal claim, the costs will vary depending on the complexity of the issues and the amount of days spent at the employment tribunal hearing. The average range of costs for your employment tribunal claim are the same as the figures set out above for employers. Due to Covid 19, the Employment Tribunal system has suffered delays. Even a one day hearing is often taking 9 months to be heard, and 4 or 5 day hearings can typically take 18 months. If you have legal expenses insurance, you are entitled to insist on choosing the lawyers of your choice. In those circumstances, we would then be paid by your insurer for work done on your case from the time when the claim is prepared and submitted to the Employment Tribunal.
